About aimotions
aimotions is a free library of 195 motion graphics styles built in code. Every style animates the same word, “aimotions”, so you can compare looks at a glance, and comes with a prompt that describes the look precisely enough for an AI model (or a person) to recreate it with your own text.
Why it exists
Today’s best AI models write surprisingly good animation code, but only if you can name what you want. “Something retro” is not enough; “broadcast color bars, station ident sliding in, a 1 kHz tone visualized” is. aimotions is that visual vocabulary: a catalog of named styles, each with a live demo and a precise description.
How the demos are made
Every demo is built in code with CSS, SVG, Canvas 2D or WebGL and runs live in your browser. There are no videos. Previews show a still frame and only load the live animation when you hover over them (on touch screens, while they are on screen), and they follow your system’s reduced-motion setting. All of them are checked so that nothing flashes more than three times per second.
The project was built with the help of AI tools, with human review of the code, the copy and the visual result of every style.
Style names
Styles have descriptive, generic names (art movements, techniques and genres) and never brands, specific works or people’s names. That keeps the prompts reusable and respectful of third-party rights.
Using the prompts
The prompts are free to copy, adapt and use in personal and commercial projects, with no credit required. Republishing the collection or a substantial part of it (for example as another library or a dataset) requires written permission. Full terms are in the legal notice.
For AI agents and search engines
The whole library is available in machine-readable formats: llms.txt, llms-full.txt, prompts.json and a Markdown version of every style.
Typefaces
The demos use free typefaces licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 or the Apache License 2.0, served unmodified as distributed by Google Fonts. License texts: OFL 1.1, Apache 2.0, credits.
